The second summer camp in the Surfclub on Velka Domasa took place at beginning of September. After organization of previous camps, we have tried to make the camp more interesting with richer program. On the day of arrival, was the weather not very good, but the next day we started the program in full swing and the milder weather has finally become an advantage for all-day stay on the water.
Participants had the opportunity to learn and get advanced in modern and popular water sports - windsurfing, canoeing, paddleboarding, kayaking. Entertainmentful was also the water polo. There is also an adventure rafting on the river Ondava, which is very popular for participants. They also tried to race in different water disciplines. The participants also explored the surroundings of Velka Domasa.
The joy of sporting was bigger every day because of the support of project partners and posibility to use modern and high quality windsurfing sets, paddleboards, kayaks and canoes. Excellent was also the club Kamiksee which made absolutely perfect program for students.
The evenings spent participants with varied programs, the campfire, the discos on the beach, film screenings and presentations. Students also get know olympian Patrik Pollák - slovak personality of the world of windsurfing, which gave them valuable advices to go for success despite many prejudices.
In addition to getting familiar with the sport they had the opportunity to get to know each other, communicate together, find common themes and discover the Slovak and Ukrainian culture. Together, creating new friendships and erase barriers.
And what is the outcome of this event? Passion and enthusiasm of young people for an active life and communication. Effort to try new sports, make an active contribution to the development of society and demolish prejudices about cultural differences. Ukrainian participants understand that Slovakia is a country that is full of opportunities. That's easier when you are on one surf wave...
