This event had a slightly different character than the previous ones. The point was to show water sports to ordinary people playful way.
Ideal location for this event became Lake in Kosice, which in addition to the natural water area also has a water ski lift, operated by TRIXEN. The city of Košice was just in that year the European capital of sport and we could only strengthen the category of water sports.
Participants become familiar with water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, paddleboarding, water skiing and wakeboarding, which everybody could try for yourself live on-site. They got an overview about sailing, about our center Surfclub and the possibilities of where they can do this sports. Great benefit was the participation of water rescue service, where certified lifeguards gave valuable advices before the summer season and learn first aid.
Participants even had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the great slovak windsurferer - Patrik Pollak who represented Slovakia at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Sydney, Beijing and is world champion in the class of RAC. Patrik prepared a presentation of his surfing career. For many was the meeting with him great experience.
Event had also joined representatives of the Ukrainian partners, who also tried possibilities for water ski lift, which is the perfect summer training for the Olympic snowboarding which they make in the nearby Ukraine.
The event was attended by many primary and secondary schools and many other sports enthusiasts and other passers-by.
We are very happy that people has interest in boating and water sports, and we are very pleased to have opportunity to approximate these sports to large amount of people. Thanks also for the city of Košice and its participation in this event.
